A memory from the road

One road, one song, and an old familiar window.

Sometimes a melody carries you back to the bus, train, or car seat you left behind years ago.

The road remembers

Cities change. Flyovers arrive. Shop signs are replaced. Yet one turn, one old tree, or the smell of a station can tell us we have been here before. A travel memory often belongs less to the place than to the song playing at the time.

The seat by the window

The view outside moves quickly. Inside, a song moves slowly. There is no need to speak. Between passing light and the melody, a small private room appears.

Give an old journey a new name

Choose a song today that belongs to one of your journeys. It does not need to be the most famous one. Perhaps it was heard on a cassette, on a friend’s phone, or on the radio early in the morning. Save it as a favourite and write one word for that trip: rain, hostel, home, or waiting.

The destination can wait a little

Not every journey is about arriving quickly. Sometimes the road is what remains. A cup of chai, earphones, and an old song are enough to make today’s road into tomorrow’s memory.
