A small listening ritual

How to choose the first song of the day.

When there is too much to hear, begin with a song that brings you gently back to yourself.

Forget the playlist for a moment

Choosing a song can sometimes feel like one more decision. Today, there is no need to find the newest track or the most popular one on the screen. Ask a quieter question instead: what kind of company do I need right now? Something close to silence, something with a little laughter, or something that opens the door to an old day?

Find one small cue

It could be the first fragrance of chai, air at the balcony, morning light, or two calm minutes after work. Choose just one cue. Then open one song on the Gumti by mood, decade, or singer. The first song is not a decision for the whole evening. It is only a way to enter the moment.

You do not have to finish it

If the first few notes do not feel right, move on. Liking a song is not a test. Sometimes one verse is enough; sometimes only the introduction. Give your taste room to change. This gumti is not trying to build the perfect playlist. It is making room to listen.

Keep one question nearby

While the song plays, ask: what do I like here? The voice, the rhythm, a scene from the film, or a memory? It is fine if no answer arrives. The question is not there to solve anything. It simply helps you listen a little more slowly.

The next song will come by itself

After the first song, the next one is easier. Stay in the same mood or choose something that turns it gently around. Save a favourite if it stays with you. Even if the chai gets cold, a small mehfil has begun. That is enough.
